The real Abubakar Shekau is dead - SSS Spokesperson

At a briefing this evening with newsmen in Abuja following the release of a new video by Boko Haram showing kidnapped Chibok girls, spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS), Ms Marilyn Ogar said the man in the video claiming to be Abubakar Shekau is not really Abubakar Shekau, that the real Shekau who is believed to have founded the dreaded sect, is dead
"Boko Haram has become a franchise, anybody can assume and lay claim to any name. What I know is that the original Abubakar Shekau is dead; the person claiming to be the national leader now is not the original Abubakar Shekau. If security sources tell you that somebody is dead, you don't have to come out and doubt that" she said.

See photos and Video of abducted Chibok girls by Boko Haram

New video of dozens of abducted Chibok school girls has been released by Boko Haram. The girls, numbering about 130, said to be held at Sambisa forest, a border between Cameroon and Nigeria, are seen praying in Arabic in the video.

In the video, Boko Haram leader said he's ready to do a deal to free some or all the girls. He said;
"The girls you occupy yourselves with, we have liberated them...they are now Muslims. We will never release them unless our brethren are released. It's been 4/5 years you held our brethren and torturing them..and now you talk about these girls. Those who accept the faith, we'll treat them well. We will not release the girls until you free our brothers"
Abubakar Shekau mentioned that the girls have been converted to Islam. The girls are believed to be held in six different locations. Continue to see more pics and the video after the cut...

#BringBackOurGirls – Chika Ike: “My Heart is Broken”

Chika Ike - May 2014 - BellaNaija.com

Nollywood actress Chika Ike sent a press release on the trending topic: #BringBackOurGirls

The Time to act is now.
My heart is broken, our daughters have been taken away from us. 234 has become a memorable number but not for a good cause. It’s been 2weeks and all we hear is that our daughters have been abducted, I can’t even imagine my innocence at that age.
I can’t imagine the pains and agony their parents are going through now, their sleepless nights, their tears, etc. It could have happened to anyone, this could have been your daughter, sister, niece, god daughter, neighbours’ daughter or your student.
All they wanted was to go to school and read, what crime did they commit to deserve this wicked and inhumane treatment. We are not going to relent in prayers.
We are tired of all this!!!! The Time To Act is Now.

Nollywood Actress, Mercy Johnson writes on missing school girls

The star actress writes on the missing Chibok girls.

Sometimes, our realities remind us of the pain of others. My reality as a mother is that I get to see my daughter every day, while the reality of the mothers of the kidnapped 234 Chibok girls is that they don’t even know where their daughters are.
I looked at my daughter and tears came to my eyes that some mothers have the privileges of seeing their kids on a daily basis while the mothers of the kidnapped girls can only console themselves with memories.
All well-meaning Nigerians must come together and help these mothers who have been in pain for more than two weeks and make the memory a reality
