Girl Who Escaped Opens Up: Boko Haram Rapes Us Everyday

 

As you read this, the over 200 female students abducted on April 14 from Government Girls School,Chibok, in Borno State are passing through hard times, with some of them being rapéd for as much as 15 times a day.

One of the abducted girls who managed to escape made this shocking revelations.
According Daily Mirror, “Families of the schoolgirls, aged between 15 to 18, are certain their daughters are now being used as sex slaves by an extreme sect that has killed 1,500 people since the start of this year alone. They are captives in the wild Sambisa Forest in north-east Nigeria where Boko Haram has a heavily armed camp of bunkers, tunnels, ramshackle buildings and tents.

'I Moved To Ghana To Get Closer To God' - Nollywood Actor, Hanks Anuku Reveals

Hardly would you see a movie released in Nigeria few years back without the stern-face of popular actor, Hank Anuku. He was made the Special Adviser to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State on Tourism and Entertainment in 2010, but he later left the job. Bowen University closed indefinitely following students' riot

The management of Bowen University this morning closed the school indefinitely following students' protest last night. Students of the private uni. say they are protesting scarcity of electricity, water and plans by the university to increase school fees. The students say they are not being treated right

"They take the light by 8am, and bring it back by 8pm and it goes off by 11pm again. We don't have water, no socket light, while our lecturers are in AC offices and cars. We have time table for eating. 7-9am for breakfast, 12-3 for lunch and 6-8 for dinner. Most times we have classes during these periods" one student told me.
All students have been asked to leave the university...while some students who were detained last night after the riot are yet to be released. Continue...

Nigerian student, Godwin Ayogu, murdered in Ghana



A Nigerian student studying in Ghana has been found murdered. Godwin Ayogu (pictured above), a 300level student of Social Sciences at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana was killed by unknown person/s and his body dumped by the roadside.

Godwin, said to be in his early 20s, was last seen on Tuesday February 18th at the university. His body was found on Wednesday February 19th.

According to his friends, Godwin, who was the first child of his parents, had been planning to return to Nigeria on Wednesday to spend time with his family when his body was found. The Ghanaian police say they are investigating the case, but many of his friends fear the case will be swept under the carpet so they reached out to the Nigerian media. We'll follow this case up.

Singer Praiz raises N10m for baby with hole in the heart


Soul singer Praiz did the most incredible thing recently. He raised N10million for a little girl with a hole in the heart, Somaya Olayinka Dahli. Somaya had a successful surgery late last year to close the hole in her heart, but needed money for post-surgery care.

Praiz offered 100% of his one-month revenue from the sales of his callertune, Oshe, to the little girl. The money was presented to the girl and her parents two weeks ago.

Basketmouth brought down 02 Arena with Uncensored 2014 UK Tour


The Basketmouth Uncensored Tour which kicked off in Port Harcourt hit the U.K over the Valentine weekend through 4 cities - Aberdeen, Manchester, Birmingham and finally London at the Indigo O2 Arena.  

Tickets to the show were sold out a week before the concert date and even after launching standing tickets, they sold out in hours! The concert has gone down as the 1st African comedy or music show to be sold out completely in London.

Interestingly the ad campaign promoted Basketmouth as the only performing artist for the night (which many feared may affect turn out being that most shows are known to feature top music acts alongside comedy), but this was set-up as the traditional one-man stand up gig. He held the crowd down with a straight set of 2 hours, all brand new material.  

The show is set to touch down in Lagos on the 4th of May 4th at the Eko Hotel & suites Convention Centre.  see more photos after the cut...

Fred Ajidua granted bail

A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, today Tuesday September 10th, granted bail to alleged fraudster, Fred Ajudua. Mr Ajidua's lawyer pleaded with the court to grant him bail because he is living on one kidney. The judge set his bail at N50 million with two sureties in like sum.

Fred Ajidua is being accused by EFCC of defrauding two Dutch businessmen of $1.69 million (N270 million).

Olu of Warri has succumb to pressure to favour paganism

 
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwase II, has rescinded his decision to renounce his royal title, Ogiame, as well as abolish some ancient Itshekiri cultural practices. The Itsekiri Monarch bowed to the wishes of his people after days of protests. His people asked him to either rescind his decision or abdicate.

His decision was made public this afternoon Tuesday September 10th at the Kings Palace by one of his High Chiefs, Rita Lori Ogbebor, who read from a statement that was issued by 22 Palace Chiefs

Warning to Men in Lagos, beat your woman and go to jail

There's a new Domestic Violence Law in Lagos State, and it states that if you beat your wife, you will go to Jail. It is now an offense for any man to hit his wife.

According to the deputy governor of Lagos State, Hon Joke Orelope-Adefulire, the Domestic Violence Law is made not only to protect women who are most times the target of violence in the home but also to safeguard the interest of men, children, servants, maids and everyone who may be a victim of domestic violence. 

In case of man/woman abuse issues, it does not matter whether there's a valid contracted marriage between the victim and the perpetrator of the act as long as they are living together in a home setting. Continue...

Photo: Baby born with prayer rosary round her neck in Niger state

 

According to a story by Nigerian Tribune, a baby girl was born with prayer rosary wrapped around her neck yesterday July 14th in Bida, Bida LGA of Niger State.
The incident, which occurred around 2.00 p.m at Kotuworo area of the town, close to the home of Alhaji Bello Mansaba, the man with 86 wives, was said to have caused uproar, with people thronging the town to have a look at the baby born to Mrs Adijat and Mallam Issa, both of whom hail from Lama, Kwara State.
Nigerian Tribune further gathered that Adijat rushed to the home of a midwife, Abubakar Baiwa Shasha, where she was delivered of her baby girl.

Further checks, however, revealed that when the baby was about to be delivered, the nurse, it was gathered, saw to her surprise a black rosary round the neck of the child, which immediately turned white as soon as she was delivered.

It was further learnt that the midwife raised the alarm that attracted the attention of people in the neighbourhood

Speaking with newsmen, the nurse said when the baby was about to be delivered, she was surprised to see the rosary around her neck, adding that another surprise was that the rosary turned white upon delivery.
“I was really shocked when I saw the rosary,” she said.

When contacted, Mansaba, an Islamic scholar, told newsmen that the delivery of the child showed the greatness of God.
Also, Alhaji Mutairi Salau, who claimed the mother of the baby, Kadijat, is a friend to his wife, described the birth as miraculous, saying “it is only God that can exhibit such power as to cause a woman to deliver a child with a praying rosary.”
The baby was later taken to the palace of Etsu Nupe, where they were received and blessed by the traditional ruler , Alhaji Yahaya Abubukar.

Confirming the incident, the Emirate secretary, Alhaji Abdulmalik, when contacted, said the child was brought to the palace by the parents and she was prayed for by the royal father.

10 people confirmed dead as 3-storey building collapses in Lagos

A 3-storey building located at Oloto street in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos collapsed in the early hours of this morning as residents slept. Ten dead bodies have so far been pulled out of the rubble while 7 people, including two children have been rescued alive.
